RST release new and upgraded Pro Series range with the Paragon 7 jacket and trousers

RST have updated their popular Pro Series textile jacket range with the release of the Paragon 7, the new and improved version of the older Paragon 6. RST claim that the new textiles are the ‘ultimate expression of continued evolution and improvement’. So what’s new?

The main upgrade is to the armour, now with a full suite of Level 2 CE rated protection to the elbow, back and shoulders of the jacket and the knee and hip in the trousers. There has also been the addition of pockets for chest protectors if required.

There is extra ventilation for both jacket and trousers and the overall fit has been improved. Aiming to be an all season textile the Paragon 7 series features removable thermal lining, a removable storm collar, multiple vents for optimum airflow, nine pockets in total on the jacket and multiple adjustment straps to allow for a tailored fit.

A 360 connection zip allows the textile trousers and jacket to be joined all the way around, keeping those draughts out and it’s all finished off with reflective details for added visibility and safety.

Tested by Justin Hayzelden for three years, 5100 miles:

"The heating system excels in keeping your digits toasty and frost free, but as it’s battery powered does need some planning and management for the best results. If you’re using them to commute, the best advice would be to stick them on charge whenever possible to keep them topped up, or purchase a couple of additional power packs as back ups.

"The Paragon 6 is waterproof, warm and has handy features like the twin visor wipes, plus a price tag that shouldn’t make you wince. All in all, an effective and good value heated winter glove."
