These are the tool deals that caught my attention on Prime Big Deal Days 2024

One of the joys of motorcycle ownership is fettling, fixing and servicing your bike yourself. Whether that means an annual oil and filter swap, a new end can or even rebuilding a classic, you’ll need the right tool for the job.

In the Amazon Prime Big Deal Days event for October 2024, there’s huge savings on lots of products from well-known and respected brand, Draper, as well as some other manufacturers, too. Here are the deals I’ve spotted that I think are worth a look:

This set of electrical screwdrivers is great for working on your bike's electrical system (although hopefully you'll have disconnected the battery first). The blades fit into interchangeable handles so the kit takes up less room than a traditional set and you get a carry case and mains tester included, too.

A great way to upgrade several bits of your toolkit at once, this set includes precision screwdrivers, hex keys and Torx drivers. If you're sick of scrabbling around in a mess of mismatched screwdrivers, look no further.

Ok, it's not particularly glamorous... but a sorter like this one can transform your garage life. Whether you use it for spares and replacement parts or organised storage as you disassemble old parts, being organised makes everything better and less stressful.

Another socket set but this one is slightly more comprehensive and uses a 1/4" driver for smaller and more intricate jobs. You also get various extension bars and a range of bits with a manual hand driver. The whole kit comes in a nice metal case too (remember those?).

There's nothing worse than not having the right bit for a job (or having the right bit fall out while you work). This kit will solve the problem with 127 pieces and a magnetic quick-release collet. Really handy for other jobs around the house, too, so it's a gift for everyone really...

Price: $76.85
A similar kit to the 1/4" socket set above but with slightly different pieces included and in a plastic carry case.

We've all had those bolts that won't let go, even with a gallon of Fast Release applied. A breaker bar like this is a great way to exert big turning forces in a controlled way, minimising the risk of damage. Forget using a ring spanner as a makeshift bar extension or reaching for that old scaffold bar.

Price: $50.37
The more sets of pliers you have, the more likely it is you'll find the exact combination of size and strength you need for any job. That's what I tell myself anyway. This little three-piece set is ideal for building your first toolkit, too.

Price: £316.14 (was £372.95)
The first thing you need to buy when starting a home toolkit is a whacking great air compressor... OK, not really, but if you're taking your home garage or workshop to the next level, it'll happen eventually. Compressors are great for many reasons, you can drive a massive range of professional grade tools without worrying about batteries, use an air line for cleaning or inflating, and even have a go at spraying at home.

What is Prime Big Deal Days?

Amazon’s main sales are split into three main events. The big one is still Black Friday (which is the Friday after Thanks Giving in America) but there are also two others, one in spring and the other in autumn. Originally called Prime Day and lasting just 24 hours, the sales have now become known as Big Deal Days and last 48 hours each.

Do prices drop on Prime day?

Because the MCN team of bargain hunters are on the look out for deals all year, we’re in a great position to spot the ones that are worth the hype… and the ones that aren’t. Our Amazon Prime Big Deal Days page is the place to come for genuine savings on kit worth buying.
