After damaging two iPhones due to excessive vibrations on my bike, I decided it was time to find a more
rugged, purpose-built display. Enter the Chigee AIO 5 Play—a device that offers Apple CarPlay functionality, meaning it can do everything my phone did but is far more durable and bike-friendly.

Is the Chigee Car Play AIO 5 easy to install?

Out of the box, you’re greeted with a 5-inch touchscreen display, a universal bar mount, and two power options. You can either connect it to your bike’s battery or, if you’re fortunate like me with a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450, power it via USB. Setting it up is straightforward: connect the unit to your phone, and it will automatically pair every time you start your bike. No need to fish your phone out of your pocket! Unlike some other motorcycle dash systems, such as those on Enfield models, you don’t need to keep your phone unlocked for connectivity.

How was the experience using the Chigee Car Play AIO 5?

Having used the Chigee AIO 5 Play for six months, I’ve experienced zero glitches. It’s fast, clear, and intuitive—if you’re familiar with your phone, you’ll feel right at home with this device. The unit allows you to quickly switch between screens using the buttons on top or the touchscreen, which works flawlessly even with motorcycle gloves. Whether you’re navigating with apps like Waze, controlling music through your intercom, or answering calls, the AIO 5 Play handles it all seamlessly. Best of all, it offers peace of mind—particularly when off-roading, where durability is key.

The Chigee AIO 5

Is the Chigee Car Play AIO 5 good quality?

The unit itself is impressively robust. After months of exposure to motorway vibrations, long days in the sun, and some serious off-road adventures, it still looks and works like new. However, I do recommend getting a screen protector; mine cracked, but better that than damaging the main unit. The only weak point is the mounting system, which struggled to stay in place during off-road rides—an upgrade I’m currently exploring.

What accessories were included?

Chigee also offers accessories like cameras and tyre pressure monitors, though the tyre sensors were disappointing. They’re tricky to set up and leaked air, which was a letdown. Unfortunately, I can’t recommend them. They’re tricky to set up when switching between road and off-road pressures and, worse still, they leaked air. A disappointing addition to an otherwise solid kit.

Is the Chigee Car Play AIO 5 good value?

In terms of price, the Chigee AIO 5 Play is competitively positioned. For those looking to replace their phone’s navigation system with something more rugged, this unit sets the gold standard.

Chigee Car Play AIO 5 – the bottom line

The Chigee AIO 5 Play is a fantastic addition for everyday motorcycle riders. It performs flawlessly, but the mounting system could use improvement, and the tyre pressure sensors leave much to be desired. Despite these minor gripes, I’d highly recommend this unit for its durability and ease of use—especially if, like me, you’ve had enough of risking your phone on the open road.
