I’m originally from Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean where I rode a Yamaha XT250 both on- and off-road. Off-road there meant everything from cane fields to virgin tropical rain forests. Riding a motorcycle in Trinidad in those days was like ducking bullets in the wild west. But I had no fear back then and my wonderful XT250 often took me to places no sane person would go – except maybe hunters and outlaws. I lived for the adventures and the stories. When I moved to London I stopped riding since I could get anywhere I wanted by public transport. After studying music for a couple of years I worked as a music teacher and producer. When that industry changed beyond recognition I went back to my writing and video production. I studied SEO copywriting and digital marketing, certified with Google as a digital marketing professional, and struck out into the land of freelancing.
I never saw the opportunity to get back in the saddle until a friend suggested it one day, and I thought, “Why not”. So I got my full licence and promptly bought a Triumph America LT, since my buddy and his mates were Harley boys. I’ve been touring Europe with the lads for nine years now, but I also ride solo a lot since I like exploring and filming my adventures.
I work with an amazing team here at MCN – all bikers through and through. I’m on the digital side as a product writer and reviewer. My goal is to help my audience make informed buying decisions by sharing the latest product news, and by delivering in-depth reviews of bike kit and accessories after putting in the miles with them.
