Jane Omorogbe

Most of the world knows Jane Omorogbe as ‘Rio’ from the original incarnation of Gladiators. She was one of the most fearsome combatants and was particularly well known for her scalpel-like ability with a pugil stick (and yes, she still has one, along with her Gladiators outfit).

After Gladiators, Jane took her considerable TV experience in a new direction, pursuing her love of motorsport to become the face of British Superbikes coverage and the British Touring Car series – all for ITV. In addition to that, she presented numerous other car shows as well as being a presenter for Isle of Man TT and covering live Speedway for Sky Sports.

Also a film stuntwoman, Jane rather fittingly appeared in the Ridley Scott’s Hollywood blockbuster, ‘Gladiator’.

But her affection for bikes and her strong journalistic passion eventually led to a 15-year career as one of the world’s foremost female bike journalists, writing for a host of specialist bike titles, as well as bringing biking to an even broader audience through her time writing for the The Sun and The Times. She tested everything from scooters to MotoGP bikes, and also helped found and run the No Budget Cup race series. Her bike journalism eventually inspired a move to Belgium, where another new chapter started in the form of co-founding a skateboard business.

But training, fitness and metal health have always been the constants in Jane’s world, and she now dedicates her time to being a health and fitness coach. But bikes could never be far from her thoughts – while her unique skillset means she’s the perfect person to help motorcyclists get more from their bike time by working on key areas of strength and flexibility.
