Adam grew up in the family garage helping Dad fix his motorcycles, and has been fanatical about anything with an engine ever since.

Now he looks after Bauer Media’s product test team, while regularly getting stuck into kit tests for MCN, and has been riding since 2018.

Outside of work, he’s usually found on his mountain bike, at a gig, or driving radio control cars with his son.

Writing

Adam joined the Parkers and CAR road test team in 2015, leaving behind a career as newspaper reporter. He studied English at University and has loved writing his entire life.

He’s been a journalist for 15 years, contributing news, road tests and reviews to MCN, Parkers and CAR Magazine (and CAR Products), as well as The Telegraph, Yours, The Independent, Mother&Baby, RiDE, Closer, Modern Gardens.

Testing motorbike gear

Adam started out on a string of tall adventure bikes while he searched for the dream Triumph Daytona 675, which he’s now riding while there’s still some mobility left in his lower back.

He’s tested everything from off-road boots to FIM-approved helmets in that time and has picked up plenty of useful experience in sourcing and choosing kit for new riders.

Adam is an expert in…

• Finding bargain motorcycle gear

• The best kit for new riders

• The Fast and Furious franchise

• Rubik’s Cubes

Top buying tips for readers are:

“Get prepared early and shop out of season for huge discounts on motorcycle kit – if you know your jeans are coming to the end of their useful life, wait until November when they’re often up to half price.”

“Small things make a huge difference when it comes to riding gear. I’ve got more of my money’s worth from everyday things like earplugs that fit comfortably than helmets and jackets that promise the world but don’t deliver the same bang for buck.”
