Cow herding…on a bike! Ex-Great Escape Triumph TR6 is a firm farm favourite

1 of 10

Nearly 60 years ago Steve McQueen wowed motorcyclists with his riding in the classic movie The Great Escape. Following completion of filming, the Triumph TR6 that was used in the famous jump over the barbed wire fence scene was sold to a farmer whose land was used during filming.

Instead of mothballing the iconic bike, the farmer instead put it to use and it became his chosen method of transport for herding cows on his farm.

Paying tribute to the bike and story, MCN were invited to Wales to embark on a spot of cow herding themselves using the latest Triumph Scrambler 1200 XC where we were joined by former Dakar finisher Tamsin Jones.
