Milan Show: BMW unveils its new G450X

1 of 5

The completely road-legal G450X is BMW’s first hardcore off-road competition offering in the 450 class.

Based on the competition prototype that’s been publicly tested for several months, the production version meets the latest Euro III emissions regulations and offers some unusual technology.

Highlights include a reverse-rotating crank, and an innovative layout with a shorter gearbox than conventional bikes, allowing a longer swingarm.

Overall, the machine weighs 120kg ready-to-ride, with its 8.5 litre tank filled with unleaded. It’s set to go on sale in the middle of 2008, with prices to be decided nearer the on-sale date.

Read all the technical details in MCN, on sale November 7, where we will also bring pictures and information of all the other new bikes at the Milan Show.
