TT: Monday practice cancelled

1 of 1

Hopes of getting the 2017 Isle of Man TT underway this evening were dashed as further bad weather blighted the island.

Heavy rainfall had left the majority of the 37.73-mile circuit damp and with that plus low mist on the mountain, Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson made the call to cancel the evening’s planned sessions at 16:00 local time.

The move comes after Saturday’s practice was cancelled due to similar conditions, meaning bikes are yet to hit the course at this year’s event.

With the forecast set to improve tomorrow, the schedule has been rejigged to allow newcomers their speed controlled laps ahead of the classes getting out on course.

The plan for tomorrow evening is now as follows:

18:20   Speed controlled session solo newcomers

18:25   Speed controlled session sidecar newcomers

18:35   Superbike/ Superstock/ Supersport/ Newcomers (all classes ex Lightweight)

19:20 to 19.50 Supersport/ Lightweight Newcomers (all solo classes) Qualifying

19:55 to 20:50 Sidecars
