VIDEO: Haslam escapes 150mph horror smash
Dramatic footage has emerged showing the moment at which Leon Haslam hit the back of James Ellison’s McAMS Yamaha in yesterday’s second MCE British Superbike race at a speed in excess of 150mph.
Eurosport’s footage shows how Ellison slows as his bike cuts out on the run down from Druids to Lodge, leaving Haslam with nowhere to go but run in the back of his former team-mate.
As shown in the onboard, Haslam had just a fraction of a second to react and was able to roll off the gas and touch the front brake before hitting the back of Ellison and being flung over the handlebars of his machine.
