Red Bull recruit the 'Guardians of Dakar'

In the swampy southern French reigon of Camargue, they don’t have cowboys; they have guardians. Tasked with much the same job as their American brethern, these horsemen look after the cattle that graze on these salty marshes.

And with similar terrain expected over parts of this year’s Dakar Rally, Red Bull recruited their best and brightest for a pre-South America shakedown. Marc Coma, Helder Rodrigues, Brit Sam Sunderland and Matthias Walkner are joined by Dakar legend Stéphane Peterhansel, Carlos Sainz and new car driver Cyril Despres, as well as Kamaz truck driver Ayrat Mardeev.
