This Is England actor releases John McGuinness documentary

Actor Andrew Shim, best known as Milky in This Is England, has released the first episode of his new web series Inside the Passion, which he hopes will bring motorcycle racing fans closer to their heroes.

The first episode centres around 23-time Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinness, with the Honda rider detailing every aspect of his life, and even digging out a few old photos of himself.

In a post on the Inside the Passion Facebook page, Shim stated: “Exactly one year ago I had an idea, I wanted to create a series of documentaries that brought fans like myself closer to the rider, and allowed me to understand what that person is like in real life, away from the podium and “correct answer” interviews, a documentary that allowed the riders to show their real and true colours.

“First up is non other than the legend, John McGuinness, a man that needs no introduction! I was lucky enough to shoot this two part episode with a rider that I’ve been a fan of and watched dominate the Isle of Man TT year after year!”

Creating the documentary on a shoestring budget wasn’t easy. To be able to make the project a reality Shim spent nights sleeping in vans, stole food from John’s fridge and had to blag his way to race meetings in anyway possible.
