Video: Motorcyclist runs over rogue mattress

A motorcyclist in Queensland, Australia had a lucky escape when he ran over a mattress which had flown out of a trailer.

The rider was overtaking the car when the mattress caught the wind and flew towards the biker. The rider had little time to react, but luckily the mattress wedged itself behind the front wheel of his bike and he was able to remain upright as he came to a stop. The way the mattress had wedged itself meant the bike was able to stay upright once it had come to a stop.

The rider was left stuck in the outside lane on the entrance to a tunnel, before a passing motorist stopped and removed the mattress.

The driver of the vehicle towing the trailer failed to stop, and could face a fine of $184 AUS.
