Yamaha get in on the scrambler game

1 of 3

Yamaha have launched this cool new scrambler-styled model over in the US to sit along other models in the Sport Heritage range.

Featuring the air-cooled 942cc V-twin engine from the current XV950, the SCR950 features a larger 17-inch rear wheel and is styled on the iconic XT500 enduro. It features a redesigned subframe that is home to a new bench style seat, which sits at 830mm to allow for a more relaxed and upright riding position over the XV’s 690mm perch.

To accompany this, the SCR also comes with semi-knobbly Bridgestone tyres, higher handlebars and reworked suspension. Side cover number boards help complete the scrambler look.

Unfortunately, the bike is only going to be made available in the US at the moment where it will retail at $8699 (£6600), and comes in at roughly the same price as the current XV950 that is known as the Bolt in the States.
