Trophies stolen from National Motorcycle museum

A large number of trophies were stolen from the National Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham last night.
The museum is offering a £20,000 reward for information that leads to the safe recovery of the trophies, which include replicas awarded at the Isle of Man TT.
The break-in took place at 11pm on Wednesday, August 27 and the museum’s trophy display cabinets were smashed. The museum says the trophies and replicas have little value as scrap, but described them as “a unique and irreplaceable part of this country’s motorcycling heritage”.
If you have relevant information, please contact West Midlands Police, the National Motorcycle Museum on 01675 443311 or email the museum’s James Hewing (james@thenmm.co.uk)
The museum remains open as normal despite the break-in.
