Monza World Superbikes: Sofuoglu withdraws after brothers death

Hannspree Ten Kate Honda rider Kenan Sofuoglu has withdrawn from the Monza Wrld Superbike race following the news that his younger brother Sinan has been killed in Turkey.

The Ten Kate Honda team issued the following statement:

It is with great sadness that the Hannspree Ten Kate Honda Team must announce that Kenan Sofuoglu’s brother, Sinan, has been involved in a fatal accident while racing in his native Turkey.

Kenan has withdrawn from the Monza event and has returned to Turkey to be with his family at this difficult time.

We would respectfully ask that the media not make any requests for further information at this sensitive moment.

We wish to send our condolences to Kenan and all his family and they can be assured that our thoughts are with them.
