Donington Park MotoGP: Marco Simoncelli tops 250 Warm-up

Italian Marco Simoncelli is gunning for his third race win on the trot today at Donington Park, and has set himself up perfectly to achieve it with the best lap time of this morning’s 250cc Warm Up.

Simoncelli stuck in a 1.33.903 with the chequered flag after swapping the top time with the likes of pole man Alvaro Bautista, Repsol KTM’s Julian Simon and fellow KTM runner Hiroshi Aoyama.

Lone British representative in the 250 field, Eugene Laverty, had possibly his best session of the weekend so far, ending up 17th overall in the session with a 1.36.903, but looking more competitive after having a nightmare in the wet yesterday after front fork and rear tyre issues.
