Jorge Lorenzo vows to keep motivated

Jorge Lorenzo has vowed to fight and keep his motivation up despite Michelin’s struggles in the last three races.

Lorenzo toiled to a determined 10th place finish at the last race in Brno, but prior to that had crashed out early in Germany and America having struggled with rear grip.

But the Spaniard, who is in a fight for fourth in the world championship with Colin Edwards and Andrea Dovizioso, has pledged not to let his head drop despite Michelin’s sudden slump in form.

The double world 250 champion told MCN: “It is difficult when you see Casey (Stoner) doing such a fast time on his first lap. You get a little bit demotivated but after ten minutes you have to find motivation because there’s a long way to finish the season and we can still do some good results.”

Asked whether Lorenzo still had faith in Michelin to transform its fortunes the Fiat Yamaha rider said: “We are still far from Casey and Valentino (Rossi). It is difficult for them to improve for this year. There is no time to do anything and for 2009 their position is unknown. In Misano maybe their problems will disappear.”
