Vallelunga WSB: Bayliss quickest in 2nd qualifying session

Aussie Troy Bayliss put in a good performance to claim the top spot on the time sheets in the second qualifying session at Vallelunga.

Bayliss finished third in yesterday’s qualifying session 1, behind Haga and Spanish rider Ruben Xaus, but things have all turned around this time out, with Xaus down in fifth and Haga finishing with what must be a disappointing result.

Despite dominating proceedings at the Italian circuit all day yesterday and finishing first in the first qualifying session, Haga slipped down the time sheets today and only managed 10th place this time around. A couple of nasty crashes yesterday will no doubt not of helped the talented Japanese rider.

German Max Neukirchner took the second spot in today’s qualifying session 2, closely followed by Fabrizio in third, racing at his home circuit, and Kiyonari in fourth on a Honda CBR1000RR.

British rider Chris Walker placed 26h on the time sheets, with a time of 1’39.623, almost 3 seconds off the pace set by the front runner Troy Bayliss.
