A grand day out

I attended the ride for rights day in London which was superb. I would like to thank the organisers the Met. traffic police and every biker that was on the run. We need much much more of these runs to raise our profile as we are living with a government that is obsessed with controlling everyones liberty and freedom. The truth is, this government is worried about the amount of new people taking up motorcycling particularly riding/commuting into London, which is currently affecting the amount of revenue that TFL are losing and future road pricing policy in which ever form it takes. They will use any method possible to put future riders off, by publishing false statistics of the dangers of riding a bike and using the safety card issue at any chance they have.

Next year it will be even harder to pass a motorcycle test. There seems to be one set of rules for bikes and another for cars. I have been riding for thirty years. FS1E at 16 and a blackbird today. I also drive a car and ride a pushbike. Today is definitely a fantastic time to be riding. There has never been such an incredible range on bikes to buy and ride. The clothing and accessories kit available is limitless. There are touring companies that will take you to Devon and back or around the world riding your bike or a rented bike. I

t is incredible. We have Rossi Stoner McGregor Boorman Suzy Perry and more bikes on TV than ever before and yet we a have Government that is threatening to legislate us out of existence. We must never let this or any other Government take biking away from us. As the speakers from Riders Connect said on Saturday we are part of the traffic solution not the problem and should be treated accordingly. Most experienced motorcyclists make better car drivers for obvious reasons and are not radical anarchists.
