Brave Suzi Perry says she’s been uplifted by messages of support she’s received from MCN readers and can’t wait to get back to pacing pitlane on our behalf. The BBC television MotoGP presenter extended this special message after learning of the incredible popularity of the ‘Get well Suzi’ story posted on www.motorcyclenews.com by user 1000TT:

This response followed Perry needing life-saving surgery following a miscarriage. She said: “It has been 9 weeks now since my ordeal and I have been uplifted by all the wonderful encouraging messages I’ve received from MCN readers. Those kind words mean so much. The support has been overwhelming – even Valentino sent me get well wishes and JT was sweet enough to mention me on air.

“My recovery has been a long, painful and frustrating one but I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and I can’t wait to get back to normal. Because I lost four pints of blood it has been difficult to regain my energy levels and I haven’t been able to do too much.

“I hated watching Qatar on the box, it was very weird not to be there, but I just wasn’t strong enough. I will be back for Jerez where I will hit a birthday, so perhaps it will be a double celebration!

“I returned to work last weekend for the Gadget Show at the NEC in Birmingham and it felt good to be on stage, but after nine live shows I do feel as though I have been run over by a very large bus. I know I have to be careful in the coming months – too much and I will find myself back in my sick bed and I don’t want that… I can’t miss the whole season! I would like to thank MCN readers for their kind words. They really do mean a lot…”

Suzi underwent surgery nine weeks ago after suffering a ruptured ectopic pregnancy.
