Exclusive: Aprilia V4 prototype on the dyno

1 of 1

This exclusive spy shot shows Aprilia’s all-new V4 World Superbike contender undergoing longevity testing on Aprilia’s dyno.

The bike shown is the second generation prototype – the only shots seen so far are of early versions (marked with a ‘0’), but this bike is clearly marked ‘P01’, designating an evolution of the design.

Outwardly the bike is identical – the prototype is still running in RSV-R bodywork, and the chassis is the same as the earlier bike.

Aprilia have been concentrating on getting power from the engine and retaining reliability.

A factory mole who watched the bike on the dyno told MCN: “It’s making good power – it will make at least as much power as the Desmosedici RR. It sounds really impressive, too.”

We will continue to hunt for the latest information on the machine – so keep an eye on www.motorcyclenews.com and the print edition of MCN, out every Wednesday.
