Two new Kawasaki 125cc motorcycles

Kawasaki has introduced its first 125cc four-stroke road bike since the BN125 cruiser.

The all-new air-cooled engine will power the new KLX125 and D-Tracker supermoto 125.

Both bikes will be seen for the first time in the UK at the NEC Motorcycle Show in Birmingham in November. Prices are estimated to be £2500 for the KLX and £2700 for the D-Tracker.

The D-Tracker already exists in 250 form in the Japanese market and has attracted a cult following in big cities where the supermoto style suits the busy roads and the budgets of young riders.

Kawasaki hopes this 125 version will have the same affect over here.

The D-Tracker gets the same digital dash as the ER-6 range, upside down forks and a single wavy front brake disc like the ZX-6R supersport bike.

Kawasaki’s UK Sales and Marketing Manager, Michael Johnstone said: “Our research with customers and dealers told us that widening of the Kawasaki range appeal with bikes such as the ER-6n and KLX250 have attracted new riders to the brand.

“Now we want to add to that and we are focussing on attracting completely new people to life on two wheels.

“The KLX125 and D-Tracker 125 will be perfect as first bikes and ideal as an introduction to motorcycling with Kawasaki.”
